Grief can be overwhelming and you don’t have to struggle with it alone.
There are lots of organisations in Scotland offering free advice and support to help you, a family member, friend or colleague through the process of grief. Listed below are a list of services and helplines which we hope you find useful.

Resources for Younger People/Children
Hope Again –The Hope Again website has support and advice for young people dealing with loss. It includes information on how parents can support a grieving child.
Child Bereavement UK – Child Bereavement UK helps children, parents, and families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. They support children and young people up to the age of 25 who are facing bereavement, and anyone affected by the death of a child of any age.

Resources for Older People
Silver Line Scotland is the confidential freephone helpline for older people in Scotland, open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Learn more via the Age Scotland website.
The service is provided by The Silver Line Helpline and Age Scotland working in partnership. Silver Line Scotland provides information, friendship and advice to older people and those seeking advice on how best to support older friends and family members.

Resources for those who lost a loved one unexpectedly
Petal is for people experiencing trauma and loss and they support families and friends of murder and suicide victims through telephone counselling. They provide a drop-in centre in Hamilton and outreach programmes in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
